Barnaby, Brave Bear of the Forest
A Picture Book About Kindness and Courage
📖 Product Description
Barnaby is a big, gentle bear who has just found a new home in the forest, after his old one was lost when the trees were cut down. All he wants is a friend.
But Barnaby is so big that the smaller animals run away whenever he comes near. He tries his best to help. He lends a paw to little animals who are stuck, and he picks fruit from the tallest branches and shares it with everyone. Still, the forest is afraid. Nobody seems to see how kind he really is.
Then one day, danger comes to the forest, and Barnaby has a choice to make. It takes one very brave day to show the whole forest who Barnaby truly is.
What children will discover
- Being big does not mean being unkind
- Kindness shows in what we do, even when nobody notices at first
- Courage means helping others, even when it is hard
- Everyone deserves a place to belong, and it is never too late to say thank you
More than a bear story
Barnaby's story is about kindness, courage, empathy and acceptance. It gives families a gentle way to talk about feeling new or different, giving others a fair chance, and welcoming someone who needs a friend.
A note for parents: the story includes a forest fire scene, told with care. Every animal is brought to safety, and the book ends warmly and happily.
